Indira Gandhi National Open University will deliver courses in the Malayalam language also from now onwards, as per the New Education Policy of India. This has been declared by the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today. The university will start giving lectures on certificate and diploma courses in the Malayalam language on Swayam.

National Education Policy (NEP) guarantees to provide mainstream education in the regional languages for school and college students. Hence, IGNOU’s certificate and diploma courses are in line with this provision of NEP.

“Happy to share that in line with the NEP, IGNOU is developing and starting certificate/diploma level programmes in Malayalam through SWAYAM. This will extend learning opportunities to Malayali speaking students, including those abroad in their mother tongue,” announced by Union the Education Minister.
