Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor's Degree

1. Ph.D in Law (PHDLE) - A mandatory prerequisite for pursuing a Ph.D. in Law is an LLM degree, attaining a minimum of 55 percent marks. Prospective candidates are required to participate in the Ph.D. Entrance Examination.
2. PG Diploma- Applicants desiring admission are required to hold a bachelor's degree in a discipline of their choice.
3. Certificate courses- To enroll in the specified IGNOU law certificate programs mentioned earlier, applicants are expected to have successfully completed their 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognized educational board or institution. Alternatively, candidates with a completion of the Bachelor's Preparatory Programme (BPP) from IGNOU are also eligible.

Course Duration

3 Years

Duration of the courses depends upon the courses you choose for yourself but the minimum duration is six months and the maximum duration is two years.

Program Delivery

Self Instructional Print Material- The University provides self-instructional print materials for its courses. These materials are divided into Blocks, with an 8-credit course having around 8 Blocks, and a 4-credit course having 4 or 5 Blocks. Each Block contains several Units that are thematically related. The first page of each Block lists the Units covered in that Block.

Term End Examination

The term-end examination is a significant part of the evaluation process, accounting for 70% of the final result. These exams are three hours long and are worth 100 marks each. The University holds term-end examinations twice a year, in June and December.

The primary goal of the assignments is to assess your understanding of the course material and help you manage your learning progress by providing feedback. You should be able to answer the assignments using the information provided in the printed course material.
