Course Fee

The course fee of the whole B. Tech. course at IGNOU is INR 20, 000. However, the fees may vary from specialization to specialization. IGNOU offers distance education at an affordable rate for the students who face financial instability and still wish to study from a recognized university. The course is offered in Construction Management and within that the student has to complete 2 modules in the course. After the completion of those 2 modules, the student will be eligible for the advanced construction management.

Eligibility Criteria

3 Year Diploma

The students with a diploma of 3 years in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Computer, Architecture Engineering from a recognized polytechnic or even its equivalent will be eligible for the course. The candidates should also be self employed to be eligible for the course. There is no age limit to be eligible for B. Tech. at IGNOU.

Course Duration

4 to 10 Years

The duration of general B.Tech is 4 years. However, the maximum duration to complete B. Tech. at IGNOU is 10 years. The specialization that IGNOU offers in B.Tech is Construction Management which is a course that is made for working individuals. Hence, to let the working individuals have their time and a flexible routine, the university offers 10 years for the completion of the course. The course has 8 semesters with practical exposure as well.

Admission Procedure 2024

The admissions for different courses in IGNOU are conducted in two sessions twice a year. The two sessions are the January and July sessions. IGNOU aims to offer distance education to all the students and over all the parts of the world.

Syllabus

Distance B.Tech is offered in the specialization of Construction Management at IGNOU. The course is tailored with practical knowledge and exposure as well. The candidates that are enrolled in this are working individuals and have to manage studies along with it. The syllabus includes 2 modules and after the completion of the two modules, the students will be eligible for the advanced level of the course.

IGNOU Distance BTech have developed a thorough methodology that includes materials for the study, the submission of assignments and exams. The mode of study is ODL (Open & Distance Learning) since IGNOU is an open and remote university. IGNOU offers both offline and online materials for studies as well as on different online channels to make it easy for students to attend conferences.

Printed Study Materials

B.Tech's printed curriculum is sent by IGNOU to the student's correspondence address. The cost of the training equipment is included in the BTech programme fee. The training is conceived by the finest IIM and IIT instructors. IGNOU's printed study material is world-class in terms of its information and content.

Online Study Material

IGNOU also has an online edition of the study material for those who do not want the printed study material. The course program can also be accessed online by students who have been admitted to the course. IGNOU has built an app for students to download and access the courseware at any time.

Counselling Sessions

At the study centres, students are provided with counselling sessions which are coordinated by the Study Center coordinator. For each subject, there are 6 counselling sessions which are generally scheduled at weekends, i.e: Saturday and Sunday.

Assignments

IGNOU gives 30% weightage to the assignments in the final result. A student can submit the assignments through the online method and see the status of their assignments. The assignments include Case Studies, Objective Answers, Short Type Answers, and Long Type Answers. There is the last date for the submission of assignments. Students must keep themselves updated with all the details about assignments.

Exams

Exams are conducted in June and December every year for the two admission cycles. The semester's exams have a 70% weightage in the final course.
