SOMS or the School of Management Studies of IGNOU has recently introduced an online MBA (Masters of Business Administration) course with the complete approval and recognition of the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE.)

 IGNOU has recently released an admission notification for an online course in MBA (Masters of Business Administration) for the session 2022 January admission cycle. This new online MBA has got the approval of AICTE. This move of the university comes amid the COVID-19 Omicron variant surge which is increasing day by day. The online MBA course is a boon for those who want to take admission to the online MBA. The program will be part of the January 2022 admission cycle and it’s a great opportunity for the students who want to take admission in the management program under the online education system.

For taking admission to this online MBA program, the university has set some eligibility criteria for the students. Students with 50% marks in aggregate for the general category and 45% or above for reserved categories are required to take admission without any entrance test.

The course was introduced on Tuesday; i.e 11th of January, 2022 by the VC of the Institution “Prof Nageshwar Rao” in the presence of Guests of Honour. The prominent and valuable members include the Director of IIM, VC of the Central University of Karnataka, VC of the Central University of Tamil Nadu and other notable dignitaries.

According to the official press and notification regarding the delivery of a course of Online MBA, it is said that for the hassle-free education system and delivery of contents will be done through various smart ways like digital form of study materials, synchronous and asynchronous counselling, academic sessions through GyanDarshan, Mobile Application, Gyanvani, Social Media Platforms and complete support with e-mail.

If we talk about specializations provided in the course, then we find that there are five major specializations included in this online program. It includes Financial Management, Human Resource Management, Services Management, Operations Management, and Marketing Management.

“Learners need to complete a total of 28 courses/topics that are concluded in four semesters that holds 116 credits. The course is provided in online mode internationally with an affordable fee. The minimum duration of the course is two years and the maximum is 4. The prominent program co-coordinators will be Prof. Rajeev Kumar Shukla, Dr. Venkataiah Chittipaka, SOMS, Indira Gandhi National Open University”: press release said.

The inaugural event was very great and notable professors and academicians have attended the same. It includes Prof. RP Das, Prof. Satyakam, Prof. Sumitra Kukreti, Prof. Uma Kantilla, Prof. K. Ravi Shankar, Director of School of Management Studies, all the Pro-Vice Chancellors of IGNOU, the Faculty including all senior officers during the event, said further in the press release.
