IGNOU has released the dates of offline Term End Examinations and it has been observed that students are raising concerns over the offline exams amidst Covid-19. Indira Gandhi National Open University is conducting offline exams of Final Year students for the June 2021 session. Exams are likely to begin from August 3 and henceforth, students are being concerned over the covid situation.

Ever since the dates of TEE June 2021 have been released and students are raising concerns over Twitter and a student named “Rinku Adhikary” wrote on Twitter “ Conduct an online meeting with students before sending them to the hospital.” Despite this comment, there are other harsh criticisms as well.

There is another student named “Drishti” asking the reason that why IGNOU is not conducting online exams even when the country is still struggling with the havoc of Covid-19. IGNOU provides enrollment to students across the country and there are students from remote areas and also from places that are currently struggling with flood-like situations. A student of Maharashtra raised concern over difficulty in reaching the exam centre because of the flood situation in the state.

Meanwhile, IGNOU has made it clear that the university has not yet reached the decision to take online exams.

“Offline exams are going to be held for final year students only. We had successfully conducted these exams last year as well. This year too, we will hold offline exams in accordance with the government’s Covid-19 protocols. All safety precautions will be taken by the examination centres. Admit cards will be released soon,” said Chief Public Relations Officer.

It has been stated by the university that TEE exams have been organized in two sessions i.e, Morning (10 am – 1 pm) and evening ( 2 pm – 5 pm). However, the actual timing of the course will be mentioned on the question paper.
