What are the Admission Process for IGNOU

Indira Gandhi National Open University is the most famous open university located in India. Many students want to take admission to this university as it provides various courses in online and distance modes of education. IGNOU Selection Criteria 2024

Admissions are either entrance-based or based on scores obtained in the previous qualifying examination. More admission related details are as follows:

  • Courses such as BA, B.Com, B.Sc., BCA, BSW and BAVTM are admitted on merit, or equivalent to that obtained in 10+2.
  • Applicants for BLIS admissions are eligible for applications based on bachelor qualifications or a one-year Library Science Diploma.
  • Acceptance of BBA in Retail (RL) is based on merit. But the entry for BBA in Service Management (SM) is based on an interview.
  • For MBA admission, applicants are shortlisted based on their bachelor ratings plus OPENMAT.
  • M.Sc. candidates must have completed their respective subjects with the baccalaureate degree for entry into M.Com, MA.
  • MCA admission is based on bachelor's scores with math or BCS12 with MCA in parallel.
  • MTTM applicants are able to enrol in related subjects such as tourism, hotel management, etc if they hold a relevant bachelors or UG degree.
  • Doctoral students are required to hold an M. Phil or Master degree with an aggregate of at least 55%.
  • Admission to PG Diploma in any relevant subject is based on graduation. Diploma admissions are based on the 10+2 or equivalent results.

IGNOU UG and PG Admission 2024

For 10+2 qualified students and graduates, IGNOU offers a variety of Distance UG and PG courses with various specialisations. The IGNOU Bachelor and PhD classes usually start in February and the student selection is carried out on the basis of their 10+2 exam marks and the graduating percentage of students. The university offers several diploma courses for undergraduate students as well as a bachelor's degree. You can only take some simple steps to accept these courses.

IGNOU MBA Admission 2024

In the School of Management Studies, IGNOU offers a wide range of management programs. The MBA and the PG diploma and diploma courses are some of the courses offered by the School of Management Studies. These courses last at least two and a half years. In any discipline where a minimum of 50 per cent marks are available for general categories, applicants seeking admission must be graduated and should also have cleared the OPENMAT exam performed by IGNOU. The institute offers an MBA as a General subject and under the specialization of Banking and Finance. It also offers a PG Diploma under the following streams of Management:

Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM), or
Post-Graduate Diploma in Financial Management (PGDFM), or
Post-Graduate Diploma in Operations Management (PGDOM), or
Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management (PGDMM), or
Post-Graduate Diploma in Financial Markets Practice (PGDFMP)

IGNOU MBA Eligibility Criteria

IGNOU has shown to be a very reasonable institution for a number of courses that many students believe are out of reach. IGNOU offers MBA programmes that are much less expensive than typical MBA programmes. Furthermore, while an MBA is expensive in and of itself, the programme is not. The distance MBA programme costs Rs. 37,800 in academic fees, which must be paid in advance by bank draught from any recognised bank in the name of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). At the start of each semester, students are responsible for paying the academic fee to the appropriate regional centre. As a result, IGNOU has increased access to education.

IGNOU MBA Selection Criteria

IGNOU Management Program such as MBA, Diploma, and PG degrees, Human Resources Management, Financial Management, Operating Management, Marketing Management, etc candidates are selected based on the results obtained by the OPENMAT, held throughout India twice a year. A result card will then be sent to all candidates who participated in the OPENMAT exam. It will state, based on the cut-off mark in accordance with the University directives, whether the applicant was or was not qualified for the IGNOU MBA programmes.

Candidates seeking admission to IGNOU management programs can register for OPENMAT by downloading the information brochure containing the application form and send it upon completion along with the prescribed fee.

IGNOU B.Ed and M.Ed. Admission 2024

IGNOU also offers Bachelors and Masters of Education courses, each of which lasts two years, in addition to several UG, PG and Research courses. The B.Ed and M.Ed. programmes are admitted on the basis of the entry test marks of the candidate conducted at all Indian levels by IGNOU. The participating students can download hall tickets for entry testing from the official website of IGNOU. Usually, an IGNOU B.Ed Entry Test takes place every year in August.

The candidate must submit the completed application form, as per the entry-cum-admission form with self-certified copies of documents. The programme fee should only be submitted through the "IGNOU" request draught (DD) which is payable in the city of the Regional Centre. After receiving an offer letter for admission, the original documents should be submitted by the students for verification. IGNOU M.Phil and Ph.D Admission 2024

The university also allows candidates to research in their own fields of study by offering M.Phil. and PhD courses in different fields. The university offers PhD in 12 topics at the academic session in July and M.Phil in 2 topics. For admission to M.Phil/Ph.D. courses, qualifying candidates shall be required to attend the university's entrance exam. If you are a doctor, you are exempted from the entrance test for candidates holding M.Phil. degree (with course and dissertation) or for candidates who have claimed Net (UGC/CSIR/ICAR) or other equivalents. How to Get Admission in Ignou 2024?

Before applying for IGNOU Admission 2020, interested applicants must confirm their eligibility. You can only submit the application form online. See the steps below:

  • Candidates must click on the "REGISTER YOURSELF" option for the IGNOU Admission Portal Register.
  • For further log-in, you have to remember your ID/Username and password.
  • Click "Login" and enter their username and password to complete the application form. Existing users must enter the application form.
  • The application form is now necessary for candidates and the required documents have to be uploaded.
  • The application cost will be paid online once the application form is filled in. An online Payment Gateway allows you to pay the Application Fee via credit card, net banking, and ATM cards (PNB).
  • Take the printout of the receipt of payment for future reference following the submission of the fee.
  • To complete the application procedure, click on the Submit button.
