The total academic fee of IGNOU Part-Time M.tech is INR 2,75,000 and the per semester fee is INR 68,750. IGNOU is a central university and is funded by the central government of India. Hence, all its courses are affordable as compared to other universities. Candidates from all walks of life can apply for admission to the university.

Eligibility Criteria

B.Tech/B.E.

For candidates who are willing to take admission in the Part-Time M.tech of IGNOU must have at least a bachelor’s degree course from a recognized university. If you qualify eligibility criteria of IGNOU you can apply for the course by visiting the official website of IGNOU.

Course Duration

2 to 4 Years

The minimum duration of Part-Time M.Tech is 2 years and the maximum duration is 4 years. IGNOU provides extra 2 years for students to pass all the exams so that even working professionals can cope up with the curriculum.

Admission Procedure 2024

IGNOU provides admission to students in two academic sessions; January and July. In order to apply for any course at IGNOU students need to visit the official website of the university. On the homepage of the IGNOU website, you will find an option to register online and then you can opt for fresh admission. Afterwards, fill the application form along with the personal details, upload all your documents, and then submit the academic fee and registration fee online.

Syllabus

Indira Gandhi National Open University has been approved by the University Grants Commission, Distance education Bureau, and AICTE. Hence the curriculum of the university has been designed by scholars by taking into consideration the guidelines of UGC. The curriculum of all the courses of IGNOU is designed to provide in-depth knowledge of different concepts. Part-Time M.Tech of IGNOU includes subjects related to computer science, computer architecture, Information Security, computer graphics and visualization, and so forth.

Placements

IGNOU founded its own campus placement cell in the year 2005 in order to provide placement assistance. The placement cell of IGNOU helps students in developing employable skills and it organizes job fairs at some of the regional centres of IGNOU. It is also planning to increase its activity in the future.

Printed Study Material:

Despite the fact that IGNOU does not provide full-time M.tech with regular lectures, the university meets all of the self-study demands of students. Students have the option of ordering printed books, which will be delivered to the address provided on the application form. Students must pay an additional fee if they want printed study materials at the time of acceptance.

Online Study Material:

IGNOU provides students with a variety of digital tools for self-study. Students can access the eGyankosh portal, which serves as a repository for books and research papers. Apart from that, IGNOU has its own mobile application where you can find and download books in PDF format. “IGNOU e-content” app is the IGNOU mobile application for online study materials, which you can readily access on Playstore.

Weekend Counselling:

In comparison to the past, IGNOU has achieved remarkable strides. Audio and visual lectures are available at the university, and students can attend them on the following platforms:

• Recording which can be purchased
• Live Lectures on platforms like SWAYAM etc.

Radio Lectures:

IGNOU hosts a number of interactive sessions in collaboration with All India Radio and Phone-In Services. Gyankosh, GyanDarshan, Gyanvani, and a variety of other programmes are offered to introduce you to the curriculum.

Assessments

Exams and assignments will be used to evaluate a student's performance at IGNOU. Students in any subject will be given questions to answer as well as practicals to complete as assignments. Students are expected to do well on homework as well as term-end exams.

Assignments

Students of part-time M.Tech courses have to submit assignments and they can find the questions of the assignments on the official website of IGNOU. It is mandatory to submit assignments otherwise, you will not be able to sit in the term-end exams. The 30% marks are of assignments and the rest 70% are of term-end exams.

Examinations

IGNOU conducts exams twice a year; June and December. Term-end examinations of IGNOU has a weightage of 70% marks. In case, students fail to give an exam then they can appear for the next exam cycle.
