The fee of Distance M.Com varies from specialization to specialization. The fee of M.Com (General) is Rs. 11,000. Distance MCom from IGNOU has 12 subjects which are further divided into 2 equal segments. The first segment comprises the subjects related to the specialization and the second which the core subjects. Admission Procedure 2024

The admissions to this program for the January session have started on December. The admissions for the course are conducted twice a year for January and July sessions. IGNOU provides Distance M.Com courses in 4 different specializations. The duration of the course is 2 years and can be completed in 5 years. The main objective of the IGNOU MCom program is to equip the students with the necessary conceptual, entrepreneurial, and analytical skills.

Syllabus

IGNOU offers Distance MCom course in 4 specializations which are MCom General, MCom in Finance and Taxation, MCom in Business and Corporate Governance, MCom in Management Accounting and Marketing Strategies. IGNOU MCom course the students need to complete the 12 subjects containing a 72 credit score comprising of 6 core subjects and 6 subjects related to the specialization and the modular approach is followed by the University. If the student completes the first segment in a particular specialization, he/she would be awarded a Post Graduate Diploma of that particular specialization.

The written material of all the courses is sent by the university to every student which consists of 4-6 books. The cost of books is included in the fee of the course. These books are developed in the self-instructional design to facilitate distance learners.

Online Study Material

For those who would not like to opt for the printed study material, IGNOU also has the online version of the study material. Students who have taken admission in the course can access the books related to their course online. IGNOU has an app where students can download these books and can have access to it anytime.

Counselling Sessions

Students are provided with counselling sessions at the study centres of IGNOU, which are organized by the Study Center coordinators. For each subject, there are 6 counselling sessions which are generally scheduled at weekends, i.e: Saturday and Sunday.

Assignments

There will be only one assignment for each course worth 100 marks (weightage of 25%). The set of all the assignments for each semester are given in one booklet that you will get along with your course material as well as the same will be uploaded on the IGNOU’s website also. The last date has decided by the university. Every student needs to submit the assignment before the last date at the nearest study centre to avoid any kind of constraints before the end term examination.

Term - End Examination

The University conducts term-end examination twice a year, in June and December. The student can take the examination only after the minimum period prescribed for the course of study has elapsed. For appearing in the term-end examination students need to fill up the examination form along with some amount of fee. The online examination form is to be filled up from the IGNOU website.
