Learning Management System

The IGNOU’s online certificate program is effectively delivered to the student with the help of the university’s learning management system (LMS). The university’s LMS consists of various components including course study materials, video lectures, assessments, examinations, etc. With the help of these components, students can study effectively and instructors can monitor the student’s performance effectively.

Study Material Distribution System

IGNOU offers study materials in two ways i.e. in soft copy and in hard copy format. In the soft copy format, one only needs to visit the designated portals like eGyankosh for downloading the same. But for hard copies, one needs to pay an additional fee during the admission process and the university sends it to the student’s address through courier services.

Counseling Sessions

The university conducts periodic counseling sessions for students to resolve their queries and doubts. These counseling sessions are conducted usually on weekends i.e Saturday and Sunday. During the sessions, students can ask any doubts about their subjects or university curriculum. For each subject, one only gets six counseling sessions that are conducted by the study center coordinators.

Lectures

IGNOU offers lectures for a better understanding of a topic through various modes like audio lectures, video lectures, and also radio lectures. All these lectures are telecasted or available on various platforms like

Evaluation

In theoretical courses, the evaluation typically comprises two elements: ongoing assessment through assignments and a final term examination. Assignments account for 30% of the overall course grade, while the term-end exam carries a weightage of 70%. To successfully complete a course, a minimum score of 40% is required in both the continuous assessment (assignments) and the term-end examination.

Semester Exam

Twice a year, in June and December, exams are conducted for the two admission cycles. These exams hold a weightage of 70% toward the overall course grade and are taken during the semester. In case a student fails to attain the minimum passing grades in the course, they will have the opportunity to attempt the exam again during the next cycle until the end of the program.
