The University accepts students for its Bachelor's Degree Programme from both formal and non-formal routes. The non-formal category accepts students who haven't passed the 10+2 or equivalent exam. For admission to IGNOU's degree programme, they need to complete the Bachelor's Programme first.

IGNOU BA Eligibility 2024: Detailed

A student will get a BA/BSc/BCom/BSW degree upon earning 96 credit points from three types of courses: Foundation, Elective, and Application-Oriented. Those who complete 48 credits in a single discipline will earn a BA Major Degree, while others will achieve a BA General Degree. Students need to choose at least 8 credits from the Application-Oriented Courses category.

To be eligible for BA admission, you need to have passed your 10+2 from a recognized board like CBSE or ICSE with at least 50% marks. Another option is to enroll in IGNOU's BA distance mode through the Bachelor's Preparatory Program (BPP) if you hold a degree.

Admission Criteria for Indian Students (2024)

The selection criteria for IGNOU BA are straight and not as difficult as you might think.

- If you're applying for IGNOU BA admission, you need to have cleared your 10+2 from a recognized board.

- IGNOU doesn't conduct an entrance exam for the BA Course, so you can apply for any of IGNOU BA's specializations.


Admission Criteria for Foreign Students (2024)

IGNOU also welcomes students from Foreign countries to get admission to the management courses offered by the School of Management Studies. The eligibility criteria to pursue the IGNOU Distance BA Course for foreign students are as follows:

- The students must have a valid student visa for the minimum duration of the online BA program (2 years).

- The admission of such students is processed by the International Division of IGNOU after confirming their antecedents from the Ministry of Human Resource Development or Ministry of External Affairs.The fee structure of Management courses for foreigners is also different from the India Residential Students.
