IGNOU Launches A New Online PG Diploma Course In Sustainability Science

Candidates who completed a bachelor’s degree in any discipline can apply for the course from the official website of IGNOU.

Indira Gandhi National Open University has launched a new online diploma course for graduates in the name of Post Graduate Diploma in Sustainability Science (PGDSS). This diploma will be offered by the School of Inter-Disciplinary and Trans-Disciplinary Studies (SOITS).

Any candidate having a bachelor’s degree in any discipline or equivalent from a recognized university can apply for the course by registering themself on the official website of IGNOU.

The Post Graduate Diploma in Sustainable Science (PGDSS) program focuses on the genesis and principles of sustainable development, its tools, implementation and assessment strategies in a holistic way. The objective of the course is to provide opportunities to the learners to get in-depth knowledge and understanding of sustainable development and the principles of sustainability science.

The duration of the course is 1 year and the medium of the course will be in English. The fee structure of the course is Rs.6,200/- for the full program. The syllabus of the course includes the subjects such as Ecosystem and Natural Resources, Socio-Cultural System, Ecological Economics, Institutions, Governance and Policies, Strategies and Models for Sustainability and Challenges to Sustainable Development.

The program caters to the needs of the students who are interested to continue their research in multidisciplinary fields. The program will provide the students with the post of professional sustainability experts, project officers, and sustainability analysts after completing the diploma course.
