IGNOU opens registration for Bachelors degrees for Agniveers

(IGNOU) Indira Gandhi National Open University has recently announced to offer some skill-based undergraduate programs to the Agniveers.

IGNOU has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Indian Navy, Indian Army and the Indian Air Force to offer some skill-based Bachelor Courses to the Agniveers. IGNOU has started its online registration through an exclusive portal designed for skill-based undergraduate programs for admission from 1 August on the official University website.

This announcement was made at the ceremony held in the IGNOU Campus on 1 August 2023, where Professor Nageshwar Rao, Vice Chancellor of IGNOU and  PVSM AVSM, Indian Air Force, Air Marshal S K Jha, were present

The University has opened registration for five skill-based bachelor’s programmes which are as follows:

  • BAASTM: Bachelor of Arts (Applied Skills) Tourism Management
  • BCOMAS (Bachelor of Commerce (Applied Skills)
  • BAAS: Bachelor of Arts (Applied Skills)
  • BSCAS: Bachelor of Science (Applied Skills)
  • BAASMSME: Bachelor of Arts (Applied Skills) MSME

What are the eligibility criteria to get admission to the courses?

  • Must be passed in 10+2 or its equivalent
  • Relevant knowledge and skills

What are the steps to apply for an Agniveer Skill-based Bachelors Degree?

  • Step 1- Visit the official website Click here
  • Step 2- On the homepage, click on the “Agniveer Skill-based Bachelors Degree”
  • Step 3- Fill in the login details on the portal and register the details.
  • Step 4- Scan and upload all the documents.
  • Step 5- Make an online application fee payment for the final submission.
  • Step 6- Download the application and take the print.

These programmes will cover skill courses & discipline-based courses. All programs will be of 120 credits each, divided into IGNOU and Armed Forces equally. All the skill courses included in the programmes will be offered by the Armed Forces and are approved by NCVET(National Council for Vocational Education & Training), a regulatory body for skill education. The primary motive of this initiative shall be to upskill their employability post-service.
