The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the registration date of the July 2024 session till 14th August 2024, giving interested students extra time to finish their registration process for the desired programs, they want to pursue at IGNOU.
“The extension of the last date of July 2024 Fresh Admission & July 2024 Re-registration till 14th August 2024 in respect of all programs offered in ODL/Online mode”, IGNOU said in a post to X on Thursday.

The new registration date for “Fresh Admissions” and re-registration in all ODL/Online programs for the July 2024 session is August 14th, 2024. According to an official IGNOU notice, once the registration is completed at the software and accepted by it, a non-refundable registration fee could be charged as a part of this registration fee for the prior semester, you can view the updated registration date inside the IGNOU NOTICE.
Document Required
Here is the list of the documents students require for the registration process at IGNOU, and the list of documents with the specific size allotted by the IGNOU:
- Passport-size photo of the Student (100 KB)
- Signature of the student (!00 KB)
- Scanned photocopy of student’s educational certificates (200 KB)
- Students need to submit a caste certificate if they lie in special categories (200 KB)
- A proof of work experience if the student has (200 KB)
Steps to Apply
Here are the steps that students are required to take for the successful registration process at IGNOU:
- Step 1: Students need to visit IGNOU’s official website.
- Step 2: Then they fill out the eligibility criteria set by the IGNOU in the registration form.
- Step 3: Scanned and then uploaded all relevant documents asked in the registration process.
- Step 4: Verify your details after completing it and then pay the registration fees.
- Step 5: After completing the procedure, save the confirmation message or email for future use.
Fees for the Registration
Those students registering for any UG, PG, or Diploma course at IGNOU must pay a registration rate of Rs 300. If any student cancels their application before admission confirmation, IGNOU’s refund policy lets them get a complete refund of the program fee. However, if a cancellation request is submitted after admission confirmation, 15% of this system rate, as much as most of Rs 2,000, might be withheld from the fee, in line with the reliable IGNOU observation.
In the IGNOU Notice, IGNOU advised students: “If your online fee isn’t always up to date immediately, please do not make a 2nd payment right away .” Wait for some time maybe a day, take a look at the fee confirmation, and make your decision.”
