The Indra Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in its latest notification has announced the extension of the application deadline for the July 2024 session till 20th September 2024. The deadline deadline has been extended for both fresh admissions and re-registration.
Earlier the last date for fresh applications and re-registration was September 10. IGNOU has notified the extension of the application deadline through its social media handle X (previously Twitter). All the students who could not fill the their application form can now fill it.

All the students interested in IGNOU’s Online/ODL undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma courses can register themselves through its designated official website. Students can register themselves for online courses at ignouiop.samarth.edu.in and ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in for ODL courses.
Moreover, exam forms for Term-End Examination (TEE), December session have been released by the university. Students who fulfill the eligibility criteria for IGNOU TEE December 2024 can register at exam.ignou.ac until October 15 without any late fees.
Document Required
All interested students in IGNOU’s Online and ODL courses must be ready with the below-listed documents before proceeding with the application.
- The most recent passport-size photo of the student (Max. 100 KB)
- Scanned Signature of the Student (Max. 100 KB).
- Scanned copies of academic qualifications(Max. 200KB).
- Scanned copies of the category certificate, for SC/ST/OBC/PwD (Max. 200).
- A scanned copy of proof of relevant experience (if any) (Max.200).
Steps to Apply
Interested students must follow the steps below to complete their application for IGNOU ODL/ Online programs-
- Step 1- Visit the official website of the IGNOU.
- Step 2- Fill out the registration details required by the university.
- Step 3- Attach scanned photograph, signature, and all other relevant documents asked by the university.
- Step 4- Review the application form and pay the application fees.
- Step 5- Submit the application form after fee payment.
- Step 6- Save the confirmation email sent by the IGNOU on the registered email ID.
Registration fees at IGNOU
The registration fee for Online and ODL courses at IGNOU is 300. Interested students can fill out their application forms for bachelor’s, master’s, and diploma courses by paying this amount. IGNOU will refund the full fees if any student cancels his/her application before admission confirmation.
