IGNOU is a government-funded central university that offers all students a low-cost education. Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor’s degree

Anyone interested in pursuing a distance MBA course in any discipline must have a Bachelor's degree from a UGC-recognized university. Furthermore, at least a 55 per cent average graduation grade is required. You'll be eligible to take the IGNOU MBA admission exam once you've finished all of this.

Course Duration

2-5 Years

The MBA Distance programme is two years long and can be extended to five years, giving students a total of five years to complete all of their exams. Students will have three extra years if they are unable to take or clear tests within two years.

Admission Procedure 2024

You'll need to give the IGNOU OPENMAT admission exam if you want to study for an MBA in international marketing through open and distance learning. Students must register for the OPENMAT test on their personal IGNOU website, fill out the registration form, download the admit card, and take the exam. You must fill out an application form and submit the necessary documentation for the website after passing the OPENMAT exam. Students who use the IGNOU website to pay their tuition can use any digital payment method. You should read the IGNOU Management Prospectus, which is available on the internet, before applying for a distance MBA in any specialisation.

Students have the choice of receiving printed books or printed study materials, which will be delivered to the address provided on the application form. Students must pay an additional fee if they want printed study materials at the time of acceptance.

Online Study Material

IGNOU equips students with a variety of self-study digital resources. Students can access the eGyankosh portal, which is a book and research paper repository. Aside from that, IGNOU offers its own mobile app where you may search for and download PDF books. The IGNOU e-content app is a mobile application for online study materials that you can find on Google Play.

Weekend Counselling

IGNOU provides counselling or introductory sessions at weekends to describe the university and the course to students. Students will get weekend counselling sessions for 6 weeks at their nearest centre.

Audio and Visual Lectures

IGNOU has made tremendous progress as compared to the olden days. The university has the facilities of audio and visual lectures and students can attend such lectures on the following platforms:

• Screening of Lectures at Study Centers
• Recording which can be purchased
• Live Lectures on platforms like SWAYAM etc.

Radio Lectures

IGNOU hosts a number of interactive sessions in collaboration with All India Radio and Phone-In Services. Gyankosh, GyanDarshan, Gyanvani, and a variety of other programmes are offered to introduce you to the curriculum.

Assessments

Exams and assignments are used to evaluate a student's performance at IGNOU. Students will be given questions to answer as well as practicals to complete as assignments. Students are expected to do well on both assignments and term-end assessments.

Assignments

IGNOU accepts assignments from all classes, and in order to be considered for final exams, they must be delivered on time. The official IGNOU website lists both course assignments and due dates for each subject. IGNOU accounts for 30% of the total work, and student supervision is essential. Students can apply for scholarships either online or at a regional centre near them.

Examinations

Exams are held twice a year, in June and December. Exams account for 70% of a student's grade in each class, and students who fail a test can reapply in the next cycle. If you failed the examinations in June, for example, you can reapply in December.
