IGNOU Admission 2024 July Session: UG, PG, Diploma Courses

From the first week of June 2024, the admission procedure will commence for the July session. Students who are left behind for admission can get admission in the July session once the admission link starts for the same. They need to visit the online web portal of IGNOU that is ignou.ac.in and then follow on-screen directions. The regional centers are directed to admit students through offline mode for the convenience of those who don’t have any digital resources. That’s why Indira Gandhi National Open University is known as the largest university for the common man in the country.

The varsity accepts applications for admission to various courses via two admission sessions that are in July and January every year. The website of the university is actively working throughout the year in a student-friendly mode. They can easily access educational resources and services related to admission to various programs. IGNOU Admission Prospectus July Session 2024

The online prospectus of the university provides complete information related to the course you want. It also describes the eligibility criteria, course details and structure of the program in brief. You can check the course fee also according to the product type and your desired specializations. The admission is taken based on marks obtained in the last qualifying examination or as required in the prospectus for the specific program. IGNOU Eligibility Criteria 2024 for Various Programs

For Bachelor Degree: Student must have passed class 12th examination with a decent score. On average, an aggregate percentage is 50-55 is required in class 12th examination for Science and Commerce streams.
For Master Degree: Student must have completed his/her graduation degree from a UGC approved and recognized institution.
For the BBA program: At least 55% marks in class 12th is required for taking admission to this course.
For BCA Program: A minimum of 55% marks are required in class 12th examinations.
For MCA Program: You need to hold a bachelor’s degree for taking admission to this course with a decent score.

IGNOU Admission Updates Related to July 2024 Session

The admission is live for various courses in IGNOU. The online link is active and candidates need to visit the official website of IGNOU for taking admission to their desired course. The varsity has extended the deadline of accepting admission forms either offline or online due to the COVID-19 outbreak in 2024. Apart from B.Ed, MBA, P.hD, BSc Nursing, candidates don’t need to appear for any examination in UG and PG admissions.

Fee Structure:

BA course: The fee for this course is around 6700 to 8900 INR
BSc Course: The fee for this program is between 8700 to 12, 870 INR.
MCA Course: The program fee for this course is around 42,500 INR to 56, 500.
MBA program: For this course, the required fee is between 25,400 to 35,000 INR.

IGNOU Admission for 2024 July Session

Indira Gandhi National Open University is one of the best and top-notched institutions in the country for imparting quality education in distance and online mode. The July session will start after the January session. The admission to various programs will be taken place in various specializations in the July session just like January 2024. The admission is based on merit for most of the programs but some require an entrance test.

IGNOU Eligibility Criteria 2024 for All Programs

IGNOU Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS)

Basic Eligibility: Students must have a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks in aggregate (for the general candidates) and 45% (for SC/St/OBC/ PH category students).
OR
Students must have bachelor’s degrees in any stream with a diploma of one-year duration in Library Science are also qualified.
OR
The candidate should hold a UG degree with an experience certificate of two years in the field of Library Science and Information Technology.

IGNOU Bachelor of Arts in Tourism Studies (BTS) Criteria of Eligibility

Eligibility: Candidate must have completed class 12th examination or equivalent qualification or BPP course completed from IGNOU to be considered eligible for the program.

Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)

Eligibility: Students must have completed 10+2 with a decent score from a recognized institution or students who have completed bachelor’s degrees in Physics from IGNOU will be eligible for the same.

IGNOU Bachelor Degree Programmes (BA/BCom/ BSc)

Eligibility Criteria for BA : Students must have cleared class 12th or equivalent from a valid institution or BPP degree from IGNOU.

Eligibility Criteria for BCom: The candidate should have completed class 12th from a recognized institution with a decent score. Commerce background students will be given preference. OR Done BPP Degree from IGNOU.

Criteria Eligibility for BSc: Student must have completed class 12th examination with Science stream or equivalent degree.

IGNOU Bachelor of Preparatory Programme (BPP)

Eligibility: Candidate must have completed formal basic education from a recognized school or institution. Must have attained an age of 18 years.

IGNOU Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)

Criteria of Eligibility: The student must have cleared either UG and PG degree level examination with at least 50% marks in any specialization. Students of Engineering and Medical background are also eligible for this program. Apart from the above eligibility condition for the BEd program, students should have experience in trained teachers or in the field of elementary education. The candidate must have completed a course on teacher training approved by NCTE.

Relaxations

A relaxation of 5% is granted to SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PWD candidates. Also, Kashmiri migrants are provided various relaxations as per the university law. The war widows and orphaned children are also provided relaxation in most of the courses.

Procedure to Fill IGNOU Admission Form for July 2024-2025 Session

Students are requested to follow these steps in order to fill admission form with care:

First and foremost, launch any web browser on your computer screen or smartphone.
Then, visit the webpage of IGNOU using ignou.ac.in.
Now, select the option “Admission for July Session.”
Next, hit the New Registration option there.
After that, fill out the form by providing all the mentioned details one by one and then hit the Register Now option there.
In the next step, you are required to enter your course details. Choose the one that you desired to opt for.
Now, you need to upload all the documents in scanned format to complete the registration procedure. Next, you need to pay the fee using your debit or credit card and then hit the Submit option at last.
Verify your details using OTP received on your smartphone and don’t cancel the webpage until the fee is paid.

Steps to Check IGNOU Registration Status 2024 July Session

Once you have registered for the IGNOU admission program, can easily check the status using these instructions:

At the start, visit the IGNOU web portal using ignou.ac.in and open the admission form.
Once the IGNOU webpage is opened, you need to choose the option “Know your Registration Details.”
A new window will appear on your device screen in which you have to enter your enrollment number and course code along with your date of birth.
Note: The enrollment number must be of nine digits to fill all the boxes otherwise, it will be invalid.
Tap on Submit to proceed. A registration status page including various information will appear in front of you.

Eligibility Criteria for IGNOU UG Program Admissions 2024

IGNOU BLIS – Bachelor of Library and Information Science Course (Revised)

The candidates who have passed graduation with 50 per cent marks or more from some recognized universities in the general category and 45 per cent marks or more in OBC/ST/SC/PH categories can apply for this course.
or else
Applicants who have conceded a graduation degree and one year of diploma in Library Science are also entitled to apply.
OR
The applicants who have passed a graduation degree with two years of operational knowledge in the Information Center or Library can apply for this course.

IGNOU BTS – Bachelor of Arts in Tourism Studies Course

Students who hold BPP from IGNOU University or 10+2 from a recognized board or college can apply for this course.

IGNOU Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Course

The candidates who want to apply for this course must hold BPP from IGNOU or 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board or college.

IGNOU Bachelor’s Programmes i.e. BA/B.Com/B.Sc.

To get admission in the BA course, the candidate must hold BPP from IGNOU or 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board or college.

Students who hold 10+2 or equal from some standard college or board or have done BPP from IGNOU University can apply for the B.Com course.

In the same way, the applicants who have cleared 10+2 or equal from a recognized can apply for a B.Sc course.

IGNOU BPP – Bachelor’s Preparatory Programme

There are no special requirements to get admission to this program except the age limit. The age of the students must be above 18 years to get admission to this course.

Bachelors of Education

The candidates who have passed graduation or equal with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and post-graduation in the field of Commerce, Science, Social Sciences, and Humanity are eligible to apply. Similarly, the candidates who have passed graduation in Engineering or Technology with a speciality in Science and Mathematics are also eligible to apply.

Along with the qualification mentioned above, the candidates must be trained in-service teachers in elementary edification to secure admission in this program. University will give a relaxation of around 5% to candidates who hold ST/OB/SC/ OBC (NCL)/PWD categories and to war widows or Kashmiri migrant candidates.

B.Sc. Nursing (Post Basic)

The candidates who have passed BPP from IGNOU or 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board or college and a three-year diploma in GNM with two years of work experience in the profession are eligible to apply for this course.
OR
The candidates with a 10th class score or equivalent and a three-year diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery with almost five years of work experience are also eligible to apply for this course. If someone does not hold midwifery in the GNM Programme but has done a nursing course of around 6 to 9 months, can also apply to this program.

IGNOU PG Course Admission 2024 Eligibility Criteria:

IGNOU MSCCFT – Master of Science in Counseling and Family Therapy Course

The candidates who want to apply in this course must have passed graduation with specialization in areas like Family Studies, Human Development, Family Relationships, Child Development, Psychology, Home Science, Childhood Studies, Medicine, or more.

The candidates who have studied allied disciplines such as Anthropology, Philosophy, Sociology, MBBS, Education, or equivalent aptitude in Unani, Nursing, Siddha, Homeopathy Medicines, or Ayurveda from some recognized universities are eligible.
OR
The candidates who hold a graduation degree and a master’s degree or a graduation degree with a post-graduate Diploma in Guidance and Counseling are also eligible to apply.

IGNOU MSCDFSM – Master of Science (Dietetics and Food Services Management) Course

The candidates who want to apply to this program must have passed B.Sc. (Home Science) with a specialization degree in Dietetics, Clinical Nutrition, and Food and Nutrition.
OR
The candidates who hold a post-graduate Diploma in Public Health Nutrition and Dietetics or have passed B.Sc. or equivalents like MBBS, BHHS, etc., following the streams, i.e., Life Science, Medical, Microbiology, Home Science and Technology, and Pharmaceutical are also eligible to apply.

IGNOU MARD- Master of Arts in Rural Development Course

To get admission in this course, the candidates must hold a graduation degree from some recognized institute.

IGNOU MTTM- Master of Tourism and Travel Management Course

To get admission to this program, the applicants must fulfil any of the below-listed categories.

Category 1: The candidates with BA (Tourism)/BTS/B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration/, or graduate degree in Hotel Management, or graduate degree in any subject along with a Diploma in Tourism by some recognized University are eligible to apply.

Category 2: Students who hold a graduation degree in any field can also apply for this program. Keep this noted that such students are required to clear four additional tourism institution courses for the duration of the program to complete their degree.

Master of Arts in Hindi Program

The candidates who want to apply for this program must have passed graduation or a higher from a recognized University.

MEG – Master of Arts in English Course

The candidates who hold a graduation degree or higher from a recognized institute are eligible to apply for this course.

Master of Social Work

The candidates must have passed a graduation degree or higher from a recognized institute with good marks to get admission in this course.

IGNOU Master of Social Work Course

Candidates with a graduation degree or higher from some renowned organization can get admission in this course.
